Workshop 03 / mobile base
Build for the night, not the screenshot.
Choose confirmed modules, group them by function and see what a trailer or RV actually needs before it can be called a base.

No invented power budgets
The module list is sourced from the publisher and developer notes. The tool does not calculate wattage, fuel draw or module weights because those numbers are not published. It checks that the essential functions are covered.

Warmth
The first failure mode of a cold base.
Power
Benches, lights and comfort need electricity.
Storage
Physical cargo needs a physical home.
Living
Comfort is not survival, but it is morale.
Utility
Information is a force multiplier.
Mobility & recovery
A base that cannot move is a house.
Confirmed modules only. This is a planning aid, not an official build template. The game does not publish module power draw, weight or slot limits.
How to use the builder
- Choose the rig. A car + trailer is the best-documented mobile base. An RV is the larger option. A fixed base or garage uses the same functional categories but does not need mobility.
- Choose a priority. Warmth first is the safest. Range first prioritizes fuel and recovery. Living comfort is a luxury choice, not a survival plan.
- Select only the modules you can actually build. A blueprint or a confirmed module name is not a promise that you have the materials.
- Read the build check. The tool flags missing heat, power, storage and recovery categories. It does not invent a wattage budget.
- Write notes. Record the crafting order, the power source and where the critical boxes live.
- Save or print. The plan is stored locally in your browser.
A sane build order
- Heat. A heater or a reliable fire setup. A cold base is a failure state.
- Power. A battery and a generation method. Benches and lights need electricity.
- Storage. Cargo boxes or transport boxes. Loose loot is a storm liability.
- Food and water. A cooking bench and a pantry reduce the number of supply stops.
- Workshop. Crafting bench and spare parts. This is what turns the base into a repair station.
- Utility. Resource and storm scanners. Strong, but not foundations.
- Comfort. Bunks, radio, microwave, instruments. The reason the base feels like a home.
The trade-offs the game does confirm
- Trailers consume fuel when attached. A base that moves costs fuel even before the generator starts.
- Trailer crafting consumes fuel. A workshop session is a fuel decision.
- Generators consume fuel. Power is not free just because it is on board.
- Blizzards move objects. Secure the base or the storm will rearrange it.
- Weight changes driving. A loaded trailer brakes and turns differently from an empty one.
What the tool cannot know
- Module power draw, battery capacity, solar output and heater fuel consumption.
- How many modules a trailer or RV can hold.
- Whether every module fits every rig.
- Whether bunks trigger a sleep mechanic or only a comfort state.
- The exact fuel penalty of a loaded trailer.
- Whether the storm scanner predicts tornadoes or only blizzards.
